Full suspension bush change, all wheel bearings and coilovers changed on my sister’s MX-5 done.
Bled the oil cooler and sorted some ill-fitting coolant hoses on the X1/9, discovering a water leak in the process.
Oil change, ignition leads, fuel filter, delrin door bushes and a mirror blank plate for my mate’s turbo 5.
Diagnosed the lack of heater fan in the citroen to a transistor on the fan itself, pulled out the front end metal where I dinged it because aforesaid fan failure meant it didn’t defrost the screen. Oh, and an oil change.
Still to do:
Coolant pipes an bleeding on the X1/9, as well as perished fuel rail hose and injector gaskets. Probably a lower mount for the oil cooler too.
Fix transistor on the Citroen, replace front wheel bearings and flush the front suspension struts, and fix anything else I’ve missed.
All by next Monday. With three days taken out for a gig and beer festival.
Yep. It’s going to be tight...

You can do it. Just don’t try to build another shed while you’re taking care of all that.

You’re taking a complete fleet of cars to the meet, haha!
Too bad I can’t come, I’d love to see the X1/9 in real life

Thanks :) might still be putting stuff back together on Sunday if the post is slow, but only if it’s delayed. Should be all done pretty soon really :) being off work helps

Haha I’ll try not to ;)
You joke, but new sheds are on the list almost directly after this lot, so distraction is a definite concern...

I am!
What with me, Matt, Phil, Soph and Rob we’ve probably got a third of the cars there!
Shame you couldn’t make it. What was the issue? If it was marginal cost-wise and the hire tipped you over I do have an MG F if you can insure it. Had offered it to Gyorgy but now he definitely can’t make it...

I joke but it’s funny only because of the truth it contains.

Remind me again when and where the Oppomeet is. I’m back in the UK now and might have a reason to be up in Wales soon. If someone else is going to pay...
I’d have to check the insurance docs to see if the F’s insurance covers me for other cars - the Camry’s did, but it expired while I was away and I haven’t fixed it yet - but if it does, I still want a go in your BX :)
I’ve been meaning to ask for ages if you still had the Maserati around - that is the front of it there, right?
And what the fuck is that Acrow prop doing? Please tell me you’re using it as a convenient movable upright to hang things from, rather than to hold up that beam.
[Edit: I didn’t know Acrow prop was a proper noun.]

Thanks for the offer! However it’s not just the cost of renting a car, but just the complete cost that is too much, seeing I likely have to pay a €1000+ trip to Japan (which admittedly is optional, and might fall through in the end) and a trip to Canada. (not that I’m complaining, haha)
Ah well, hope to see you another time! Have fun in Wales!

Oh cool! Yeah it’s next week, 26th to 30th. First three days in Breacon Beacons, last two in Snowdonia. Think we might have spaces in the accomodation left if you were thinking that, but even if it’s joining for one of the days that’d be cool :)
By all means ;) Duurtlang on here will be driving it, but I’m sure you’ll be able to go for a spin ;)
That is a Maserati, but not the 228. It’s a 430 that my dad picked up probably days before they jumped up a price bracket. Very nice buy. Been refreshed by the previous guy, but he couldn’t get it running )think it was a combination of dead fuel pump and clogged filter). Had it running, but it cracked a valve shim so it’s in the process of having its shims done (laborious process on these).
The 228 has sadly deteriorated somewhat from being outside which is a shame, but we just haven’t had the space inside for it. Plan this summer is to build at least two more garages which should allow for some musical chairs to get it inside where we can assess the damage.
Oh, and yeah rest assured the Acrow prop (huh, it does auto-capitalise it) isn’t supporting the beam in its entirety. They’re sized to support themselves, but with the snow recently we wanted a bit of extra insurance given how much time and money is sitting under a snow-loaded roof...
